Club & JUMP Umpires
HPHC will be running the JUMP (Junior Umpires Mentoring Programme) for students Year 9 and above on Saturday mornings at LEP where we will teach you how to umpire junor games. No previous experience is necessary. Students just need a desire to learn more about the game and be dedicated. This is a very popular programme, with mentoring provided by senior umpires each week. Trevor Thomas is co-ordinating the JUMP Umpires programme again this season. The junior season starts on 6 May 2023 and we would welcome you joining our JUMP team. Email Trevor at info@hphockey.org.nz to express interest in joining the programme.
Club Umpires are also required for Youth and Senior Division games each week. Previous umpiring experience is not required, however, a good understanding of the game would be an advantage. Full training and support will be provided. An allowance is paid by Auckland Hockey Association for each game umpired. Email Trevor at info@hphockey.org.nz to express interest in joining our HPHC club umpires group.
